[SGS] Galaxy S I9000 keeps restarting when wi-fi is on.

[SGS] Galaxy S I9000 keeps restarting when wi-fi is on.
I’ve got a International model GT-I9000 that is running:
Firmware Version: 2.3.3
Baseband Version: I9000TDVJP9
Kernel Version: 2.6.35.7-I9000XXJVK-CL75655 se.infra@SEI-28 #2
Build Number: GINGERBREAD.XXJVK

The problem is whenever I turn the wi-fi on, a few seconds later, the phone reboots itself. I can’t turn the wi-fi off, because the phone shuts down before the wi-fi turns off. So what I have to do is, put it in Flight Mode to cut the wi-fi off. It restarts one more time after in Flight Mode, then it stays on. I’m guessing it’s the Firmware, but I have another phone with the exact same specs as seen above, and it does not do this.

I have no idea of how to fix this, been searching the internet for a few days and not able to find anything. I hear about "rooting" and "flashing" but I have no idea of how to do these things or if they would even work. I don’t even know how to upgrade or downgrade the firmware. I would need specific instructions if anyone knows how to fix this problem. I appreciate your help in advance. If you have any other questions, I will be happy to try to answer them.

-Frustrated.
